Who Is Watts?

wattsFounded in 1874 by Joseph Watts, Watts Regulator Company made its reputation by “Setting The Standard in Valve Technology.” During its early days, Watts manufactured pressure reducing valves to regulate steam and relief valves to ensure safe operation of water heaters and boilers.

In the 1970’s, Watts was instrumental in the promotion of backflow prevention devices to prevent the backward flow of contaminated water from entering into the potable water supply. Watts continues to lead the backflow prevention market today.

In the 1900’s, Watts introduced the revolutionary combination temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve, a protection device for use on hot water supply tank systems. These T&P valves prevented dangerous hot water heater explosions and continue to be an integral part of today’s water heating systems.

Today, Watts Regulator is part of the Watts Water Technologies family with operations in North America, Europe and Asia. Watts designs, manufactures and sells an extensive line of flow control products for the water quality, residential plumbing & heating, commercial and OEM markets. Watts is a $2.2 billion company that is traded on the NYSE under the symbol "WTS".

Watts distributes their water treatment products through an array of independant dealers, located in most communities across the United States and other selected markets. Imagine, a $2.2 billion company who has been around for 134 years, plus local service from within your own community.

The Watts North American brand line consists of such names as Watts, Watts Premier, Watts Radiant, Topway Global, Sea Tech, Ames Fire & Waterworks, Powers, Dormont Manufacturing, Savard Plumbing, FEBCO, FloSafe, HF Scientific, Laboratory Enterprises, Mueller Steam Specialty, and Orion Fittings.
